Giroola

We come from the small village of Villlareggia, near Torino, in Piemonte. In our dialect 'andè an girula' means to wander around, enjoying the moment without hurry or worries. 

That is the kind of experience we want our travellers to have as well.  

Pedalling on an e-bike on the hills of the Langhe region, or sitting in all comfort on a minibus enjoying the views of the Zegna Oasis, in a mountain shelter on the Monviso, or savouring a gelato on the Orta lake, on the saddle of a Vespa in the Roero or learning how to make the 'plin' ravioli in Cocconato D'Asti, we take care of our 'giroolers' in small groups of happy travellers. 

This is our story, and we want to tell it through images of the faces and views and people that make our job so enjoyable each and every day. 

We organize tours for small groups of travellers in Piemonte, Liguria, Valle D'Aosta. For a day, a weekend or a whole week, by minibus, mountain bike, e-bike, motorbike, vespa and on foot, discovering our land, its wines and its local cuisine.

Our departures are guaranteed, without a required minimum number of participants, and they are available for booking on our website (www.giroola.com) where we publish our departure calendar.

We also organize tailor made trips for at least 5 people: for a birthday, a surprise anniversary, a team building exercise, a happy and carefree trip among friends.

We also collaborate with agencies and tour operators to setup 100% customized experiences. We act as guides ourselves in our own trips, so you might end up learning how to make ravioli from our mother, and cooking pizza in the oven of our own former farm.

We organize day trips by e-bike in Piemonte's most beautiful areas: the Langhe, the Orta Lake, the hills around Ivrea, the Zegna Oasis, the Monferrato, the rice fields and canals around Vercelli.

We meet up in the morning, hop on pedal assist electric bikes and we leave for a day on the saddle with a hearty lunch, stops along the way to enjoy the views and the most interesting landmarks, and by the end of the day we head back home with gleaming eyes and looking forwards for the next trip.

Then we have our multi-day trips: both by e-bike, that makes mighty destinations like the Mottarone, the Way of the Salt, or the Val Maira more accessible, or by traditional mountain bike for more trained travellers. And our minibus is always at the ready to assist us if needed, and to drive us to the trails each morning.

Our favourite trip? Marco has no doubts: biking in three days all of the 120 kms of the Ivrea morainic amphitheater, our home, strictly by mountain bike.

Our Alessandro often says: '8 travellers, like in a group of friends'. That is the atmosphere of our minibus tours: be it a day trip, a weekend or a full week together.

On the minibus there is plenty of space, free wi-fi and also a guitar.

A wine tasting in the Langhe, followed by a lunch with a view in the hills, an afternoon at the ancient thermal baths of Acqui, a cooking lesson at the chef's home in Monferrato, relaxed driving in the magnificent views of the Zegna panoramic road, the climb to the Sacra di San Michele abbey and its mystery ambiance: a Giroola Minibus tour is easy and relaxed but also full of adventure.

Our favourite trip: to the Orta lake, strolling down from the Sacro Monte towards the romantic Motta square, watching the lake, gleaming so blue in the summer sun or gloomy on a autumn morning, then getting on a motorboat for the San Giulio island.

Wild and pristine mountains, rolling hills full of vineyards, cliffs overlooking the sea, green valleys and forests: Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta and Liguria are the perfect setting for hiking tours.
We work with Environmental Excursion Guides who know our territory perfectly, and we add our own way of taking care of travellers: we use the minibus to get to the starting points of the trails, and we offer a complete service of meals and overnight stays, all in the spirit of our small groups.
And so we bring hiking beginners to the vineyards of the Langhe or to the ridges of Finale Ligure, lead those who are a bit more more trained to the Oasi Zegna or Valle d'Aosta, and with experienced walkers we venture on the Monviso or Gran Paradiso. We also organize day trips with donkeys in Valsusa, or walks with added tastings like in the Valle di Oropa, or adventure weekends in a hostel where in addition to the trekking we have other activities like canoeing.
Our favourite trip? Trekking in the upper Val Maira, spectacular and pristine, the real mountain that surprises you at every step.
 

Motorcycles are one of our passions, and it shows: our tours range from a day-trip to the Gran Paradiso to relax on a sunday, to a whole week between Piedmont and France with the impressive beauty of the lakes and mountains in the background, from the 'All passes tour', in which in 5 days we cross all the Alpine passes in our region, to the weekend of introduction to offroading on the mythical "Assietta Road". All of these are also available as 'Just for girls' tours, with some trips reserved for women riders.
We also like to organize trips on a Vespa, which is more relaxing and open even to those who do not have a motorcycle license.
The favourite trip for Elena, who organizes and accompanies most of our motorbike rides, is the 5 Days between mountains, the sea and the hills, where we start from a cheese tasting in Castelmagno in the mountains of Cuneo and we arrive at the seafront of Alassio, driving through the unforgettable curves and twisty roads of the Langhe, with the inevitable stop in Maranzana, the village of the "babaciu"!
